OpenGov Foundation
One of the most exciting things to occur in government over the past few years is the rise of the OpenGov Foundation. OpenGov is based on the idea that each of us should have a say in our government. Ironically, this is the exact idea that our country was originally founded on. At the time of our founding, we did not have great ways to distribute information. Newspapers and word-of-mouth were about the only two options to spread the word.
Today we have the technology to share a nearly infinite amount of information quickly. Through the internet, we can share ideas, create discussions, and find better ways of impacting our communities.
OpenGov is merging the technology today with the ideals of 1776. I’m excited to see this organization continue to grow and generate support on both sides of the aisle as they seek to reinvigorate the idea this country was founded on – that people should have a say in their own government.
